QVI Forecourt Digital Gallery /

Curated by Tui Raven with the support of Artify Consulting, QV1 presents this digital exhibition series showcasing the work of 12 First Nations artists with connections to Western Australia. Over 12 months from July 2023, each artist will take the stage for a month-long period at QV1 in Boorloo (Perth). The five large scale digital screens located in the building’s publicly accessible forecourt at 250 St Georges Terrace will become a unique canvas for the artwork.

Designed to create opportunity for Western Australian First Nations artists to share their work with Boorloo audiences, this curated program features artists working in a range of mediums and techniques including photography, illustration, and painting.

Through an open Expression of Interest callout, we received submissions from artists across the State and beyond sharing stories of Country, culture, family, community, and identity in connection to Western Australia.

See My World presents an interwoven collection of diverse voices united through place. Through their chosen mediums, the artists invite you into their world. Each artwork is a visual portal that brings to life the landscapes, ancestral stories, and resilient spirit of Aboriginal communities. Photographers capture the raw beauty of the land, revealing breathtaking landscapes and intricate details that hold deep cultural significance. Digital art showcases the transformative power of traditional symbols and contemporary techniques, portraying the interplay between past and present. The rich narratives of illustrations intricately depict stories of kinship, tradition, identity and questioning the norm.
