WACA Grounds Improvement Project /

The WACA Ground, the birthplace of Western Australian cricket, is moving into its next phase of life which will see the grounds transformed into a boutique sporting and community facility that connects with the heart of Perth city.

In early 2021 Artify were engaged to plan and manage the Public Art Procurement through to Installation, which will take place in late 2025. Artify developed Artist Briefs for a range of artwork opportunities with local Perth artists, Penelope Forlano and Kambarni selected to work collaboratively on a range of opportunities . The Artists have developed concepts telling the rich and layered narrative of the WACA site, from it’s pre-colonial significance through to it’s present day function as the home of WA cricket and have had access to Noongar Cultural Advisor, Richard Walley, along with the WACA Museum Curator, to further inform their conceptual direction.

The artworks will be highly visible and identifiable features of the WACA redevelopment and will provide an engaging visual backdrop to a number of key locations.
