Artify commenced working as the Public Art Consultant for the Victoria Park-Canning Level Crossing Removal Project (LXR) in 2021. Artwork on this project will serve not just as a visual attraction but also as a means to foster community connection, exchange, and discovery. It aims to acknowledge and celebrate the cultural and historical significance of the various sites involved in the project. To guide this process, Artify developed a strategy that prioritises best practices in commissioning public art for the LXR project. This strategy is designed to incorporate cultural stories and creative elements from the outset, ensuring that the final results are both meaningful and authentically integrated with their surroundings.

The LXR Public Art Strategy is a prime example of Artify's collaborative efforts with the Public Transport Authority (PTA) and stakeholders to create an innovative approach to large-scale public art projects. The strategy also aims to streamline the procurement process. The seven-kilometre line, featuring precincts along raised viaducts and five new stations, is divided into five main art opportunities, four of which span the entire line. This approach is intended to not only improve efficiencies but also to attract top-tier artists to work on the PTA asset. The overarching goal is to foster a stronger sense of community cohesion along the line, enhancing the overall impact of the project.
