In 2021 Artify was engaged by ADCO as Public Art Coordinator to guide best practice commissioning of public art for the Perth Transport Operations Command Centre (PTOCC) project, from strategy phase through to artist curation, design and delivery.

In early 2022, following an open EOI and shortlisting process, artists Kambarni, Chris Nixon and Luke Davey were selected for their concept Kulbardi Season. Comprising, a large scale mural on the building’s prominent eastern facade, with shallow relief sculptural overlay and feature planters at groundplane.

The kulbardi (magpie) is an instantly recognisable form, as a protector and observer, relating to the purpose of the site. This form is intended to be seen from a distance with its identifable high contrast form. Kambarni’s personal connection to the site will be expressed using his distinct painting style through symbols which represent cultural and seasonal vitality. The poolgarla (bull banksia) blooms map the rail terminations in their initial response and abstract to display the seven sisters.
